A continuation of a story from my space-clearing practice: an old house where I perceived souls and heavy energy that had remained for centuries. Following the clearing, the owner experienced a lighter atmosphere, less stagnation, new opportunities, greater peace, and renewed hope of finally selling the house.
With my client’s kind permission, I am sharing another story from my practice.
Forbidden Love in a Convent: Two Nuns, a Great Love, Betrayal, and a Promise
A Tragic Story Emerges During a Space-Clearing Session
As I worked on clearing the energy of an old house, another powerful story gradually emerged in my awareness. It involved a young nun named Klára and a potter named Martin, whose love ended in tragedy. In the experience that unfolded during the session, their souls had remained connected to the place where they spent their final moments for centuries.
Secret Meetings Between a Nun and a Potter
Klára lives in a convent. She secretly meets Martin in the small cottage where he makes pots and vases. In time, they become lovers, although both know that Klára’s vows forbid it. They continue to meet. Klára is about twenty-one, but she seems more like a sixteen-year-old girl.
Klára confides in her closest friend, another nun. She tells her that she loves Martin and that they secretly meet and make love in the cottage. Her friend betrays her confidence and tells the other sisters. They lock Klára in a narrow, tall room with small windows, where she spends five months. In the cold and isolation, she realizes she is pregnant and tries to hide it.
The Sentence: Burned at the Stake as a Warning
The sisters decide she will be burned at the stake as a warning to the others. Klára is bewildered. Her baby is still so small. They come for her and lead her into a courtyard where a cross stands beside a prepared pyre. They tie her to the stake.
All Klára can see are the nuns around her. She feels pain, betrayal, and despair. She grieves for the unborn child who must die with her. Smoke fills the air. She cannot breathe, loses consciousness, and dies.
In what I perceive during the session, her soul looks at her body and calls for help, but no one hears. She does not understand that she has died; that awareness comes gradually. A great love and happiness have been shattered by betrayal, suffering, and death. Klára feels older, more serious, and less carefree.
A Friend’s Betrayal and Long Months in the Tower
She remembers confiding in her friend in an alcove along a convent hallway. She spoke of her love for Martin and her wish to leave the order, although she did not know how. Her friend disapproved. She said nothing, but there was a strange look in her eyes.
Later, a group of nuns took Klára to the tower and locked her inside. Her friend had feelings for Martin, too. Klára lost the last of her illusions.
The tower is cold and damp. Klára hides her pregnancy. An older nun tells her she is to be moved. Her burning is meant to serve as a warning. The nuns lead her to the pyre in the courtyard. Klára fears for herself and her child. She cannot understand why no one will stand up for her. She thinks of Martin.
The pyre is already burning. She feels pain and smells her own body burning. Then the pain disappears. In the scene unfolding before me, she is now a soul, with her child’s soul beside her.
The Death of Martin the Potter
After her death, Klára’s soul immediately “flies” to Martin. She tries to speak to him, knowing she no longer has a body. She sees him searching for her in vain. Men arrive at his cottage, attack him, beat him, and drag him away.
They take him to a house and lock him in a small room with narrow windows. He is given food only once. The door is nailed shut, and he cannot squeeze his way out. Through the windows, he can see only part of a garden. He is cold, struggles to breathe, and aches all over. Lying on the cold floor, he slowly dies.
In the story I perceive, it is autumn, around 1515. Martin’s soul separates from his body. At first he feels relief. Then he sees Klára and the little soul of their child. For a moment he is happy, but deep grief follows as he realizes that all three of them are dead. He feels immense sorrow for the life they never lived and the child they lost. Yet he is grateful to know the truth and to understand that Klára never abandoned him in her heart.
Souls Who Stayed Together
Martin relives his final moments. Men pull him from his bed and take him to a cold room. It is dark and dirty, with spiders everywhere. He lies down on the cold, wet floor. He chokes and wheezes as his body weakens. He dies. His soul leaves his body and sees Klára. Happiness is immediately mixed with pain. He learns about their child. Unable to leave, he remains in his grief. Klára tells him they will stay together, that no one will ever find them there, and that they will be safe.
They decide to remain in this house, together forever. Martin does not want to go into the light without Klára.
The Second Nun and Her Remorse
A second nun enters the story—the friend who also loved Martin. On the day Klára died, she too was locked in a room. From there, she saw Klára being taken to the stake. She could not get out and witnessed the entire execution. Klára was already burning, and she could do nothing to stop it. She felt overwhelming remorse.
Later, she was taken to another convent. She continued living, burdened by guilt. For many days she thought about taking her own life. She died in old age, judging herself harshly for having been unable either to end her life or to help Klára. In the experience that emerged during the session, her soul returned to the house where Klára and Martin remained. She was in an upstairs room. They were aware of one another but could not see each other.
Forgiveness and the Final Space Clearing
Eventually, I experienced a moment of forgiveness among all three. Klára, Martin, and the other nun forgave one another. They felt relief and freedom. I perceived them leaving together into the light, and the energy of the space felt released.
In my practice, space clearing and helping souls move on are ways of working with these old impressions, with the intention of bringing peace, lightness, and a more natural flow of energy into a home.
If something in your home feels stuck, you may feel drawn to explore the energy of the space more deeply.
