When an Old House Won’t Let You Sleep: Energy Clearing in the Sudetenland—Part 1
When an Old House Won’t Let You Sleep: Energy Clearing in the Sudetenland—Part 1
A Story from My Practice: Exhaustion, Sleeplessness, and an Unresolved Past
After moving into an old house in the Sudetenland, a client felt constantly exhausted. She could not sleep or rest, and there was an unsettling atmosphere in the house. During an energy clearing, I perceived a deep story of love, war, and unresolved pain that seemed to have left its imprint on the house two centuries earlier.
When a House “Won’t Let You” Sleep
My client contacted me because she had been feeling deeply tired ever since moving into the house. She could not sleep, rest, or simply be still for a moment.
The house is in the Sudetenland, a region with a complicated history, including the aftermath of the Nazi era. In places like this, the stories of several generations can seem layered together.
As I attuned to the space, I sensed 11 souls in the house. Together, we connected with the first three, whom I perceived as energetically linked.
The first soul, a man, said clearly, “This place belongs to me, too.” The second was a woman named Jana. The third was a man named Matěj.
1814: A Field, a Cross, and Bodies in the Mud
In the experience that unfolded, Matěj vaguely recalled his last past life. It was 1814. He saw a field, a small cross, and bodies in the mud—a battlefield. A woman lay there. She had fought to stay alive but had been killed. There was a child, too. The bodies appeared not to have been buried.
Then Jana’s story began to emerge.
Autumn. Damp, chilly weather. Mud. She sank into it, fell, and struggled to her feet. “Please, no,” she cried.
A rifle shot struck her directly in the chest. Her heart stopped. She felt the warmth of her blood as she fell into the cold mud. Her last thoughts were of the child. Her soul hovered above her body. “Who will take care of the child?” she asked.
I saw her soul fly to a meadow in the woods, where children were gathering strawberries. She watched over them from above, then returned to the house. She moved around the chimney, feeling a strong sense of ownership over the home.
Hurt, Fire, and a Return to the Chimney
Jana was back in the field. Rain. Mud. “If you have already killed my child, kill me, too.”
She ran toward the gunfire. A shot struck her. Her chest burned. Pain. Gasping for air, she fell face-first into the mud and breathed in the cold, wet earth.
“I waded through mud, I lived in mud, and now I am dying here in the mud.”
She moved toward the light, but something drew her back—to the house, to the fireplace. She had loved the fire. She was cold and wanted to warm herself. She wanted to cook a meal.
She said three families had lived there before her. I perceived her soul sleeping behind the chimney.

Pregnancy, War, and a Decision
She saw a room, a living room. Someone was being taken from her. Men were leading her partner away. Jana screamed, cried, and raged, holding her belly. She was pregnant.
She wanted to end it for both of them—herself and her child.
She ran toward the shot and fell. Her soul separated from her body. She waited for the child’s little soul. It took time; I sensed it in the house’s cellar. Eventually, the child flew into the light.
Jana stayed.
Only then did she fully realize that she had been pregnant. She fell to her knees. Mud. Despair. Guilt. She was surprised that the child had gone while she remained.
A Meadow Full of Daisies
The beginning of Matěj and Jana’s story came into view.
A meadow. Daisies. Secret meetings. Deep love. Freedom. This was where they first made love, where they conceived their child in love.
Then a bell rang. People gathered on the village green. They ran home. In the room, men led him away. Jana lunged at them, holding her belly, afraid for her child and terrified of losing Matěj forever.
Weeks of waiting. Cold weather. Then the news: he was dead.
Someone returned from the war missing a leg and carrying a letter. Jana fell to her knees. She found Matěj lying on his side. She turned his head and wept. Her feet were freezing. Someone pulled her away. She broke free and ran. A shot rang out. She fell to her knees in the mud.
Their love had been profound.
In the scene I perceived, her soul remained while the child’s soul rose upward.
Matěj’s Final Moments
Matěj recalled a trench: cold, damp, shells exploding. Five to seven days of waiting. Anxiety.
An explosion. Shrapnel struck his face and neck. The blast threw him backward. He lost consciousness. Darkness.
His soul left his body.
I saw him fly above the battlefield and through the woods to their meadow. Jana was not there. He went to the house and hid in the earth beside the shed, waiting for her to find him.
Each was searching for the other, yet their souls missed one another in the house that connected them.
Finding Closure and Helping the Souls Move On
As the session unfolded, I perceived that their bond, pain, and sense of injustice had deeper roots in three other shared past lives. Similar patterns of betrayal and abandonment had repeated, with each taking different roles.
Through the process, they came to understand what had happened, forgave one another, and were eventually able to move on in peace.
When Might You Consider an Energy Clearing for Your Home?
You may be drawn to this work if you experience the following in your home:
- Persistent fatigue
- Difficulty sleeping
- Tension without an obvious cause
- A sense that the space feels “heavy”
- Recurring difficulties since moving in
In my practice, an energy clearing is intended to release old stories, bring a sense of harmony to a space, and invite peace back into the home.
